Gauntlet war of the gods schedule4/6/2023 ![]() So, it seemed only just that Ron should - because Ron was only supposed to replace me for the last half of Issue #4 because I was falling far behind. Ron Lim set up everything with Jim Starlin, he did The Thanos Quest and everything else. And quite honestly, I always thought that the books should have been done by Ron Lim to begin with. I wanted more characters to draw!īut either way I had to bow out. I said, that means no more superheroes are gonna be able to show up in these stories now. And there was a slight touch of disappointment when Jim (Starlin) finally took the superheroes into outer space, where they faced Thanos for the next couple of issues. Unfortunately, I also chose to do that at the same time I had contracted to write and draw War of the Gods over at DC, and it ended up being way too much work. Perez: Well, the reason I even took on the project was that I wanted to draw as many characters at Marvel as I could, you know? ( Laughter) … When it came down to Infinity Gauntlet, what was it that you really appreciated about working on that project? 13! It had to be on the list, but that’s why it came in that way. Greenfield: That’s the reason why it came in at No. 13 on the list, which is, interestingly enough, The Infinity Gauntlet - which a lot of people thought would be much higher up. ![]() 13 on our countdown.ĭan Greenfield: We’ll start with the one that was No. And we begin with The Infinity Gauntlet - written by Jim Starlin and co-pencilled by Ron Lim - which came in at No. We kick things off today, June 9, because it’s Perez’s 65th birthday. This first ran in June 2019 as part of THE GEORGE PEREZ INTERVIEWS. Everyone is a Watcher.UPDATED 5/8/22: The great George Perez has died at the age of 67. It’s also a convenient way to introduce new characters without having to explain why they survived the blip or didn’t try to stop Thanos. It’s like someone watching a predator take down its prey without intervening because it’s the natural order of life, and interfering would be introducing chaos. It’s fascinating when heroes like the Eternals and powerful entities like the Ennead allow certain events to happen like the blip. Three episodes of Moon Knight are currently streaming on Disney+ with three more remaining. Hence, demonstrating that Moon Knight was not affected by Thanos’ snap of the Infinity Gauntlet. ![]() It will be interesting to see how Moon Knight may have aided the Avengers in traveling through time. But instead, the Ennead decided to not intervene, allowing Thanos to complete his plan in Infinity War, wiping out half the universe with one snap of the Infinity Gauntlet. It would have only taken minimal effort if they could work as a team. Their power is so tremendous that it is probable that the Ennead could have defeated Thanos without the Avengers. This is interesting because the Egyptian God’s avatars’ powers demonstrate that they were very powerful, and Khonshu’s ability to manipulate the cycle of the day was enough to help the Avengers during Infinity War.
